Israel Demolishes Another Palestinian Home in Jerusalem
Today at 10 a.m., Israeli bulldozers, flanked by Israeli border police and special forces, demolished a Palestinian home in Wadi Kaddoum in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood.
The demolishing was authorized by the Israeli Interior Ministry. According to the home owner, Mr. Faraj Mohammed Harbawi, his two story house had 270 square meters and was inhabited by 15 members of his family.
The Orient House considers the continued demolishing of Palestinian homes in Jerusalem as provocative and illegal according to international law which states that East Jerusalem is occupied territory. Such actions threaten to further enflame an already unstable situation and are counter to the current initiatives for calming the region.
