In August 1994, PCMD signed
its first funding agreement with the European Union, to support projects
in the field of economic and social development in the West Bank and Gaza
Strip. The contract, which was settled between Mr. Faisal Husseini and
the European Commission Representative Mr. Manual Marin Gonzales, expired
in 1996, when another agreement was signed to support projects in the field
of democracy and human rights.
At the end of 1997, PCMD signed an agreement with the
Swiss Government to support projects in the field of
education and social services in Jerusalem.
In October 1999, Mr.
Faisal Husseini signed an agreement with the Welfare
Association Construction for the Management of
Palestinian NGOs to support projects in Jerusalem and
refugee camps of Gaza Strip during the period of
1999-2000. In order to successfully implement this
project PCMPD opened an office branch in Gaza.
